From the observation platform those of us who continued descended 700 feet in about two miles to reach Hidden Lake. This sheltered spot near shore provided protection from the wind as we ate lunch. This was "make your own bagel sandwich day" and they tasted particularly good in this setting.

While we were eating a mountain goat walked 10 feet behind us, looked us over then traveled on. I was not ready for the casual acceptance of people by many of the animals.
