Our bus gave us a 700 vertical foot head start, depositing us at the Carthew trailhead at Cameron Lake. Just 2300 vertical feet and 4.5 miles of trail to Carthew Pass! After a water break Janet, with Kathy just behind, leads us toward the switchbacks that lie above the tree line.
