AORAKI/MOUNT COOK NATIONAL PARK - HOOKER TRAIL

Personally the Aoraki/Mt. Cook National Heritage Area was the most beautiful portion of our two weeks in New Zealand. Think Mt. McKinley in the United States, everywhere you looked, a spectacular view. Warm temperatures and bright blue skies were added bonuses.

Splitting into two groups, the majority taking a steep trail up overlooking the Hooker Valley, named for English botanist J.D. Hooker, to Sealy Tarns while I chose to follow the Hooker Trail to Iceberg Lake.

Waiting for the return of those who took the high road I enjoyed lying on my back in the sun looking up at the clouds.
