Carolyn put us all to shame here by taking a swim in the 40-something° water. The insanity spread as others plunged in heading for a little 'berg about 20 yards from shore, their stroke-rate on the return leg slowing noticeably as the cold water damped the initial adrenaline surge :-) Darrell (standing) looks on as another swimmer heads out.

We filtered water and refilled water bottles with cold lake water for the hike back.
