By Christmas, 2008, we still hadn't settled on a location for a summer, 2009, guided hiking trip. We wanted a trip putting us in fun places for a week on our own and found the Country Walkers web site. We selected Hiking the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state because the cities of Seattle, Wa., and Victoria, B.C., Canada were close at hand.
