Our second hike took us to The Valley of the Five Lakes. Peter and Alan were still gauging our capabilities. The montane, lower vegetative belt of the mountains, is lush, offering a wider range of plants than the higher sub-alpine region. Here there are deciduous trees alongside the Douglas Firs.
