Takakkaw Falls - Jack G., Tom and George

Takakkaw, a Cree word that translates loosely as "it's magnificent", Falls has one of the largest drops in North America and was magnificent in the morning sunlight. Jack G., George and Tom Y., who had to leave us early, have know and hiked with each other for 40 years, were joined by Tom, Georges son, on this trip.

Crossing the road from the falls we started up the Yoho Pass Trail. The ascent was steep and the trail deeply rutted in places. We intersected and took the Iceline Trail.
