Iceline Trail - Lunch in the boulder Field

The Iceline Trail lies below Emerald Glacier and within its' moraine, the rocky deposits left by a moving glacier. At a maximum altitude of 7200 feet it's the highest trail in Yoho National Park. Here we broke for lunch. The boulder field offered a fine view of Takakkaw Falls and the valley below. A mini-mineralogy course was available for the taking from the large variety of rocks at ones feet. Jopie found a beautiful specimen encrusted with quarts "diamonds". The lunches provided by The Emerald Lake Lodge included delicious hoagies that should have attracted every bear within miles. But, alas, no salt and vinegar potato chips :-)
